Call back Feeling of Emmanuel Camp 19 ~ 21 Oct 07

It was my first camp with PTU mates this year. As that’s a camp about reviewing ourselves and our relationship with God, it was not something funny. What I expected was the time to think and the time to chat with my cellmates during nightingale hours.

The campsite was 20mins from the Lantau Island pier. It was small (we were the only group there) but rooms were tidy and nice. Most of us shared a big room with 24 beds. However, Jojo, Emily, Olay and Anita got a leader room (for 4 ppl only), with a private bathroom/toilet. Oww~~ we could have a private chat at night!

In the camp, we had a BIG task. As each of us had a target person to be invited to Hong Kong Franklin Graham Festival, we need to either pray for him by ourselves / ask for a witness to do so. Each time the witness needed to sign on the card with our targets’ photo pasted on. We aimed to collect 100 signatures on the card before we left the camp!

There were many activities in the camp. To sum up, we had talks by our dearest priest, Mr LAU and Ms CHAN and pray/praise/worship/story telling sessions. Besides, we got a dictation of Bible verses using Chinese writing brush! That’s a training of thinking about the content of Bible verses in depth. To me, the most memorable activity in the camp was walking around the whole campsite by carrying a big cross on the back, with our eyes closed. Each of us had a companion to keep us in the right path. As the campsite is located on a hill, the route keeps going up and down. Before the start of trip, I thought that I would peek at least once or twice. With the faith on my companion, Emily, I could make it even without a peek!! I put my full faith on her and trust her lead. The feeling was far different from walking alone. Everyone got his own lesson in the trip. It’s amazing!

As I’m no longer young, I need to find Uncle Chow at 3am on the 1st night and 1am early on the 2nd night. I cherished the time chatting with my cellmates at night. After all, it’s been too busy during service every Sunday.

When we concluded our camp on the 3rd day, most of us only got 50 signatures on the card. Anyway, this card keeps reminding me to pray for my target, my dearest mum, every day. : ) Wish one day, what I pray for will come true!
